A software robot with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) module has been designed and implemented.
It is designed as an unattended robot, constantly monitoring an email box. It autonomously opens up new emails and downloads the attached invoice. The robot then continues to read the content of the image, translates it into data and inputs the data to the accounting software. Cloud OCR technology provided by Microsoft was used as the most effective solution in this particular scenerio.
The robot saves over 2 FTEs, and freed the team from an error-prone process.
